Mark Urick brings nearly 15 years
of experience working in intercollegiate athletics to the Northern
Arizona Athletics Department staff as the Director of Development
for Major Gifts.
Urick spent the last three years at
the University of Delaware, serving as the Associate Director of
Athletic Development for two years and last year as the Acting
Director of Development for Athletics. In his most recent role
Urick managed a portfolio of prospects for the purpose of
soliciting increased annual contributions and major gifts,
developed an overall strategic plan for fiscal year 2013, and
supervised an athletic development staff of four.
During his time at Delaware Urick
gained an increase of 20% in annual gifts, an increase of 10% in
membership, and an increase in overall funding from $2.89 million
to $3.69 million. He developed and managed all aspects of annual
giving and the department's membership program including renewals,
online giving, direct mail, electronic media and telemarketing.
Prior to joining the athletic
development staff at Delaware Urick served for three years as the
Director of Annual Giving at the University of Nevada,
precipitating an increase of more than $100,000 in annual gifts and
achieving record highs in annual football and basketball support as
well as basketball season ticket sales.
Urick has additional past
intercollegiate athletic experience as the Assistant Director of
the Bronco Athletic Association at Boise State University, the
Assistant Development Officer for the Sun Angel Foundation at
Arizona State University, and as an Operations and Facilities
Assistant at Boston College University.
Urick earned a Bachelor of Arts in
Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Iowa in
1996 and became a Microsoft Certified technology Specialist (MCTS)
with Centriq Training in 2009. He and his wife Jordan have two
sons, Sebastian and Spencer.
