Gary Hyman

• Gary Hyman joined the Northern Arizona football staff in May 2017 as the special teams coordinator.
• Hyman arrived in Flagstaff with over 15 years of coaching experience on his resume. He spent the 2016 season at Indiana State University with current NAU offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Brian Sheppard. While with the Sycamores, Hyman served as the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach.
• Prior to Indiana State, Hyman made coaching stops at the University of Kansas, Texas A&M, South Dakota School of Mines, UTEP, and Delta College.
• Hyman was previously an assistant strength and conditioning coach at USC for the 2009 season, before entering the coaching ranks. While with the Trojans, the team went 9-4 overall, including a 24-13 win over Boston College in the Emerald Bowl.
• Hyman’s bowl experience also includes the New Mexico Bowl (2010-UTEP) and the Liberty Bowl (2014 – Texas A&M).
• Hyman played collegiately at Humboldt State from 1994-96, where he was a wide receiver. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Humboldt State in 2000 and earned a master’s degree from Cal State Stanislaus in 2004.
•Hyman  and his wife Phetkadai reside in Flagstaff.
