Josh Robinson joined the Lumberjack football staff in January 2024 as Special Teams Coordinator. Before coming to NAU, Robinson was a special teams analyst at Oregon.
In his first season in Flagstaff, Robinson coached a trio of specialists - Ben D'Aquila (punter), Sean Farfan (long snapper) and Isaiah Eastman (punt returner) - to All-Big Sky Honorable Mention honors. D'Aquila, who was also semifinalist for the Augusta Sports Council's FCS Punter of the Year award, led the Big Sky in punt average at 46.7 yards and his efforts helped NAU rank sixth in the FCS in net punting at 42.0 yards. Farfan was NAU's primary long snapper and Eastman ranked 13th nationally with 11.4 yards per punt return.

Prior to working at Oregon, Robinson spent two seasons with Toledo as a quality control coach and working with special teams. Robinson was an offensive graduate assistant at Ole Miss in 2017. He spent the spring of 2017 as a quality control coach at Louisiana-Monroe.

Robinson was born in Raleigh, N.C., and grew up in Bellville, Texas. He earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Sam Houston State in 2016. While at Sam Houston, he served as a student assistant coach from 2013-16.
