Kyle Hofmann made his return coming back home to Arizona joining the Northern Arizona University football coaching staff in August 2022 as Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel.
Hofmann comes to NAU from Tennessee State University, where he served for eight months as the Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel along with their NFL liaison. In his eight months at TSU he helped assemble a Top 10 nationally ranked transfer recruiting class according to multiple recruiting services. Among those transfers were FCS All-American QB Draylen Ellis, 4 star WR JJ Holloman, 4 star WR Ray Rose, 4 star DB Jashon Watkins, 4 star LB K’Vaughan Pope, 3 star RB Tony Amerson, 3 star WR Chevy Brenson, 3 star DB Gleson Sprewell, 3 star DB Cory Gross, and 2 star WR Christian Smith.
Prior to TSU, Hofmann spent 3 years at Division-II powerhouse West Florida, where he served for two seasons as the Argonauts' Director of Player Personnel, while also coaching the Specialists and assisting with the Defensive Line. Hofmann was instrumental in the recruiting efforts at UWF as their transfer portal recruiter bringing in 48 4-year transfers in his 3 years there.
Prior to his stint in Pensacola, Hofmann was at Phoenix College where he served as the Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, and Defensive Backs Coach in 2018.  Hofmann coached NJCAA First Team All-American Kickoff Return Specialist Tyrese Green in 2018.
Hofmann spent 16 years coaching at the high school level, including from 2013-16 as the head varsity coach at Napa Vintage High School where they went 16-15 under his guidance. In 2014, they made the CIF San Joaquin Section D2 playoffs for the first time in eight years.
Prior to Vintage High School, Hofmann was Varsity Defensive Backs Coach and Special Teams Coordinator at Peoria Centennial H.S. from 2007-12 where they went a combined 74-8 in 6 seasons and captured AIA State Championships in 2007 and 2008, and State Runners-Up in 2010 and 2012.  At Centennial, Hofmann coached Players of the Year John Hughes (2008) and Zach Hoffpauir (2011).Â
Hofmann also coached at Glendale Mountain Ridge H.S. from 2000-2006 as Varsity Defensive Backs Coach compiling an overall Varsity Record of 46-14, and earing state Runners-Up in 2004. In 2005, Hofmann was Head Freshman Coach going 9-0. Hofmann also coached Player of the Year Austin Martin (2004) while at MRHS.
Hofmann also spent 2004-17 as a high school math teacher while coaching football. He has had the privilege during his coaching career to have coached several NFL players: Richie Incognito, Jon Weeks, Jeff Locke, Shawn Poindexter, Dedrick Young, Matt Gotel, and D’Anthony Bell.
Hofmann, a native of the Bay Area and Phoenix, he received his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education in Mathematics from Arizona State University in 2003, and earned his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from UWF in 2022. Kyle married his wife Audra Adair-Hofmann in June of 2022.
