Prior to Northern Arizona: Dax Monestime was a three-sport athlete at Boulder Creek, lettering in football, wrestling and volleyball. He was a two-year starter, captain, and letter-winner for Boulder Creek's football program. Monestime earned a 2022 honorable mention all-region nod before being named first-team all-region and honorable mention all-state the following season.
 
Across three seasons on varsity, Monestime played in 20 games with 69 total tackles, racking up 20 tackles for loss. As a junior, he also contributed with five sacks.
