Prior to NAU: Luke Edgecomb primarily played as a wide receiver at St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas. His senior year saw him haul in 1,362 receiving yards on 91 catches, scoring 16 touchdowns. He averaged 15.0 yards per catch and 104.8 yards per game. In his career, Edgecomb played in 29 times and caught 143 passes for 2,246 yards. He scored 22 career touchdowns and averaged 15.7 yards per reception and 77.4 total receiving yards per game.
 
His only rushing attempt in his career came as a senior when he rushed eight yards for a touchdown.
 
Edgecomb also has 13 career tackles with eight coming during his senior year. As a senior, he grabbed two interceptions which he returned for a total of 100 yards and a touchdown. On special teams, Edgecomb contributed with 21 kick returns for 475 yards, averaging 22.6 yards per return as a senior.
