Jason Sanchez enters his second season as an assistant coach, and fourth season overall, with the Northern Arizona men’s basketball program. He previously served as a graduate assistant and the recruiting coordinator for the Lumberjacks.
Sanchez assists with recruiting, player development, film breakdown, and academics.
Prior to NAU, Sanchez was an assistant at the Doral Academy for one year. He helped the Firebirds advance to the regional semifinals.
Sanchez coached at Miami Christian High School for three years, the final season as the head coach. While there, the Victors won 20 games his final year and advanced to the regional semifinals.
Sanchez played at Miami-Dade under current NAU coaches Matt Dunn and Wes Pifer. He also competed at San Diego City College before finishing his career at the University of Mobile.
Sanchez has also worked at the LeBron James Nike Skills Camp in Miami and the Dwayne Wade Fantasy Camp. He also served as the commissioner of the Mario Chalmers Clinic, Kenyon Martin Camp, and the CBF Sports Camp.
Sanchez earned a degree in physical education from Florida International in 2013. He received his master’s degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona in 2017.
