Alexis Besinaiz joined Northern Arizona University in July 2021 as the director of basketball operations for the women’s basketball program.
Prior to arriving in Flagstaff, Besinaiz worked with the National Basketball Association in Orlando, Florida from July 2020 to October 2020. Serving as a team assistant inside of the bubble at Walt Disney World, Besinaiz assisted with the restart of the 2019-20 season and was responsible for handing out credentials and gear to NBA personnel as well as game day management such as setting up benches and locker rooms as well as assisting equipment managers.
Besinaiz previously worked as the director of operations for the women’s basketball programs at UNLV (September 2018 to June 2020) and CSU Bakersfield (August 2017 to September 2018). During her time with the two universities, Besinaiz held multiple different responsibilities including assisting in the promotion of academic success for student-athletes, supervising student managers, facilitating on-campus recruiting and coordinating special events including community service and promotional activities.
Additionally, she oversaw the budgets, meals, and travel for the teams at staff of both programs and organized pregame clinics and summer camps while at UNLV.
A graduate of UNLV with a bachelor’s degree of science in kinesiological sciences, Besinaiz worked as an intern at UCLA in development and academic services from October 2015 to August 2017. During her time in Los Angeles, Besinaiz also worked as an academic mentor from January 2016 to June 2017.
Besinaiz earned a master’s degree of arts in sport management from Long Beach State in January 2017.
