Jordan Gobatie

Jordan Gobatie, a former All-Big Sky performer for the Lumberjack men's tennis program, joined the NAU women's tennis staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2018-19 season.

During Gobatie's first season with the Lumberjack women's program, he helped guide the 'Jacks to a sweep of the 2019 Big Sky regular season and tournament titles. Gobatie helped five players earn All-Big Sky honors including Chiara Tomasetti's selection as the Big Sky Most Valuable Player. NAU advanced to the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history, snapping a 20-year drought, and finished the 2018-19 season with a 15-9 record and 9-1 mark in league play.

After spending 15 months as an assistant, Gobatie served as the head men's tennis coach at Cypress College in California from December 2017-May 2018. As head coach, Gobatie led the team to an 8-2 Orange Empire Conference record and helped all of his graduating sophomores transfer to four-year schools. During his time as an assistant, Cypress College finished No. 2 in the state of California in the JUCO ranks.

Gobatie graduated from Northern Arizona in January 2016 with his bachelor's degree in political science and a minor in business. He spent two seasons with the Lumberjacks from 2013-15, where he played primarily at No. 1 singles and doubles. He compiled 24 singles wins and 23 doubles wins over his two years.

Earning All-Big Sky Honorable Mention in 2014 and First Team in 2015, Gobatie also served as the Treasurer of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee during the 2014-15 academic year.

Gobatie started his playing career at Riverside City College where he was named to the California Junior College ITA All-American Team in 2013. That same year, he was also named the Riverside City College Athlete of the Year.
