Wakana Maeta joined Northern Arizona University’s Sports Medicine Team as a graduate assistant athletic trainer in the summer of 2022. She works primarily with the women’s basketball team.
 
Prior to joining NAU, Maeta earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Grand Canyon University in 2020 and a Master of Athletic Training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2022. After graduating from TTUHSC, Maeta served as athletic training intern at Las Vegas Aces for the summer 2022.
 
She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is certified AED/CPR through the American Heart Association.
 
She enjoys hiking, sightseeing, exploring different kinds of cuisines, and playing video games.
