FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 1, 2018) – The Northern Arizona women's tennis team is approaching the midway mark of season with just four more home matches including this weekend's matchup against Sacramento State Friday, March 2.
The Lumberjacks will host the Hornets at 1 p.m. in the Aquatic and Tennis Complex.
Northern Arizona has won six consecutive matches and is currently 6-2 on the season and 1-0 in Big Sky action.
The match is free for all who attend. Fans will receive a free Kiss My Axe T-Shirt to "Sack Sac State" whiles supplies last.

- As of Feb. 7, doubles pair Hanneke Lodewijks and Chiara Tomasetti moved up eight spots in the national rankings currently at No. 45.
- Freshman Madi Moore was named Big Sky Athlete of the Week Feb. 7 after going undefeated in singles and doubles across three matches.
- Sophomore Tomasetti was the first Lumberjack in the 2018 season to pick up an Athlete of the Week honor Jan. 24.
- Last season the Lumberjacks finished on top as the 2017 Big Sky Regular Season champions after recording an 18-5 overall record and an undefeated 11-0 conference record.

The Hornets will travel to Arizona this weekend to first compete against Northern Arizona Friday before heading to Tucson to take on the University of Arizona Saturday. Sacramento State is currently 2-5 overall and 2-0 in the Big Sky after picking up wins over North Dakota and Northern Colorado. The Hornets are coming off of a 5-2 loss to Saint Mary's. Last time Sacramento State competed against the Lumberjacks was early last season in February where the 'Jacks came out victorious 4-3 in California. The eight-woman roster is led by newly named head coach Cami Hubbs who was most recently an assistant coach at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
Coming Up
Northern Arizona will begin a five-match road stretch starting March 9 against Portland State. The Lumberjacks will compete in just one match next weekend. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
