NAU Women's Tennis on Eight-Match Winning Streak

PORTLAND, Ore. — Freshman Worthy Goldman picked up her first Big Sky Conference win to help the Northern Arizona women's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over the Portland State Vikings March 9.
 
The Lumberjacks have now notched their eighth consecutive win increasing to an 8-2 overall record and remain undefeated in conference at 3-0.
 
"The team was really professional today from the minute we got to the courts for the warm up," head coach Maciej Bogusz said.
 
Northern Arizona dominated in doubles with pair Eirene Granville and Cora-Lynn von Dungern finishing first with a 6-3 victory before Chiara Tomasetti and Madi Moore clinched the doubles point.
 
Up 1-0, the Lumberjacks continued with wins from Ellie Millard, Hanneke Lodewijks and a clinch from Tomasetti. The Vikings and 'Jacks continued action with Granville picking up at win at the No. 5 position and Portland State getting on the board over Von Dungern.
 
Goldman competed in conference for the first time this season defeating junior Ashley Knecht 7-5, 6-2 to finish off the match for NAU.
 
"Congrats to Worthy [Goldman] on her first college dual match win," Bogusz said. "It was a great start to her college career."
 
A three-match week is up next for Northern Arizona against UNLV, Eastern Washington and Idaho spanning the course of four days. The Lumberjacks will face the UNLV Rebels first in Las Vegas March 15 before competing against two Big Sky opponents. Eastern Washington and Idaho will then host the 'Jacks March 17 and March 18, respectively. All three matches are set for 10 a.m. start times.
