DENVER, Colo. (June 26, 2018) – The Northern Arizona swimming & diving program placed 11 freshmen on the Western Athletic Conference All-Academic list on Tuesday. Combined with the 13 student-athletes honored in April, NAU had an impressive 24 Lumberjacks recognized by the conference this past academic year for their academic excellence.

Lauren Hazel,
Niamh McDonagh,
Sam Milewski,
Sarah O'Connor,
Elisa Rodriguez,
Sam Seiber,
Maddie Seidl and
Hope Williams were the nine first-year swimmers honored, while
Jenny Cheetham and
Katie Conn represented the divers.
The Western Athletic Conference recognizes student-athletes who have completed one full academic year at their institution, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better and competed in at least 50 percent of competition.
Conn, Dinch and Milewski all posted perfect 4.0 GPAs this past year, while eight of the 11 freshmen had cumulative grade point averages of at least 3.5.
NAU's freshmen class combined for 16 All-WAC honors in the pool at the conference championships back in March, playing a pivotal role in helping the 'Jacks secure their fifth consecutive WAC championship.
