Tomasetti picked up her second consecutive straight set win in the Round of 16, knocking off Montana State's Annie Walker, 6-3, 6-2. She is the only Northern Arizona women's tennis player to not drop a set in singles play through the first two days of competition at the Air Force Academy.
Lodewijks on the other hand showed resolve, overcoming a first set loss to also move on in the winner's bracket of the main draw. She defeated Wyoming's Elisa Koonik, 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.
In the consolation bracket, sophomore
Madi Moore earned a pair of singles victories over two Big Sky Conference opponents. After a quick 6-1, 6-3 win over Madeline Doherty of Northern Colorado, Moore prevailed in a three-set marathon match against Linnea Fristam of Montana State, 6-2, 2-6, 14-12. Also winning in three sets in the Flight A consolation was senior
Eirene Granville in a 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 win against Idaho State's Louise Botes.
The Lumberjack trio of sophomore
Cora-Lynn von Dungern and freshmen Emile Haakansson and
Adrianna Sosnowska thrived in the Singles Flight B with each winning their lone match of the day. von Dungern defeated Amanda Reinhart of the host school, 7-6(4), 6-2, while Sosnowska also earned a straight set win over Southern Utah's Alexandra Ngo, 6-1, 6-4. Haakansson pulled out a three-set win over Frankie Trella of Boise State, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. Haakansson and von Dungern moved on in the winner's bracket with their victories.
NAU started Friday's action with three doubles teams in the Flight A main draw, and had one – Lodewijks and Haakansson – advance to the third round. Haakansson and Lodewijks defeated Northern Coorado's Anna Battersby and Sandra Keta soundly, 8-1, but were subsequently handed a loss by Emily Strande and Anja Dokic of Boise State.
Tomasetti and freshman Sosnowska moved into the consolation bracket after falling to a New Mexico duo, but rebounded to convincingly defeat Wyoming's Ana Royo and Mihaela Kaftanova by a score of 8-2.
Meanwhile, Granville and sophomore
Ellie Millard fell out of the second round with a loss to a Wyoming tandem and then lost to a Montana State pair in the consolation bracket.
Moore and von Dungern will play for the Flight B championship on Saturday following two wins on Friday. After defeating Sarah Cheverie and Sara Iverson of Montana State, 8-2, the Lumberjack pair got past Air Force's Reinhart and Abby Warner, 8-5, in the semifinals.
