Ashley Croft Named Big Sky Women's Golfer of the Week

OGDEN, Utah (February 20, 2019) – The Big Sky Conference has named Northern Arizona's Ashley Croft the Women's Golfer of the Week, announced today by the league office.

Croft, a freshman from England, guided the Lumberjacks in their spring debut. NAU competed at the Rebel Beach Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., where the temperature got down to the low 40's and winds were gusting at 20 miles per hour on day one. Croft was able to withstand the bad weather and lead the Lumberjacks over the course of the three rounds. She carded 77-77-79 to pace NAU.

"It is such an honor to receive this award," said Croft. "It is a huge confidence boost to know that the hard work and training I am putting in with NAU and my team is really paying off. I see myself improving all the time."

This is the first player of the week honor in Croft's career.

"Ashley played some good holes this week," said head women's golf coach Brad Bedortha. "She does things the right way and trains hard."

The Lumberjacks are back in action on Feb. 23 when they participate in the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
