FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 13, 2019) – Christina Torrente finished up her NCAA Zone E Championships with a 26th place finish on the platform. The senior diver was the lone participant for the Lumberjacks that took part in the third day of the NCAA Zone E Championships that were held in the Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz.
Heading into the final day of Zones, Torrente's finishes on the week were 34th in the 3-meter and 21st in the 1-meter. Torrente, unfortunately, missed the finals for the platform as she finished in 26th in the event with a score of 183.90. The diver that would eventually win the event was Delaney Schnell of Arizona, who had a combined score of 678.80.
This event marks the end of a fantastic career for Torrente who has been a part of four WAC Championships and has qualified for the Zone diving meets all four of her years. Torrente will be leaving NAU with the second highest 3-meter score in program history and the fifth highest score on the 1-meter.
Looking Forward
Northern Arizona will be back in action for the National Invitational Championship in Cleveland, Ohio that will go from March 14 to the 16. This will be the first time that NAU participates in this postseason invitational.
