FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (September 30, 2026) - Â The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team will compete in their annual Blue vs. Gold meet on Friday, Oct. 2 at the Wall Aquatic Center. The Gold team will be defending their title as they defeated the Blue team 60-40 last season.
Featuring 12 events that begin at 2 p.m. MST, the swimmers will take part in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, 150 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 150 backstroke, 500 freestyle, 150 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle relay.
On the boards, the divers will make their season debut in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events. The meet will conclude with the divers competing in an 100 IM and a swim/dive relay.
The intrasquad meet offers head swimming coach Andy Johns and head diving coach Nikki Kelsey an early look at lineups, form, and depth across the roster before the regular season begins.
Last year the Gold team started off strong with a 1:45.58 in the 200 medley relay comprised of current juniors, Allie Hayes and Kokona Watanabe. Gold also saw a first place finish in the 50 freestyle thanks to Watanabe (24.45). Other events that Gold saw success in were the 100 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 200 freestyle relay.
The Blue team was not far behind, claiming their first victory in the 200 freestyle with a 1:56.77 from Abbie Miller and 500 freestyle with 5:23.62 from Teddy Sabev.
Looking ahead, the Lumberjacks will host Arizona State on Oct. 9, marking their first official dual meet of the 2026-27 season.
