FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 22, 2019) – The Northern Arizona University golf program will host its only home tournament of the year, the 14th Annual Red Rocks Invitational at the Agave Highlands golf course in Cornville, Ariz., on March 23rd and 24th.
The field of competition will include five Big Sky Conference teams in Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Southern Utah and Weber State. Other participating programs will include Arizona Christian, Cal Baptist, Cal St. Fullerton, Creighton, Drake, Gonzaga, Illinois State, New Mexico State, North Dakota State, Seattle, Stephen F. Austin, Wichita State and Wyoming.
Agave Highlands features an 18-hole, 5,919 yard course with a par of 71.

The Invitational is set to begin the first round of play at 8:30 A.M. (MST) with a Shotgun Start. The second round will follow the first round on the first day. The third and final round of play will begin with a Shotgun Start at 8:30 A.M. (MST).
Last season former Lumberjack Sofia Anokhina won the individual title at the Red Rocks Invitational. Anokhina sealed the victory with a final round of 78 to give her a total of four-over for the tournament. She also led the 2018 tournament with 10 birdies.
At the 2018 Red Rocks Invitational NAU finished fourth overall after posting a score of 318 on the final day to sit at 58-over for the weekend.
NAU will be represented by five student-athletes at the Invitational. Elle Kocourkova, Ashley Croft, Aleksandra Chekalina, Sara Padilla and Emma Reyes will don the blue and gold this weekend.
Kocourkova is coming off of a solid third round (+4, 76) performance at the Wildcat Invitational on March 12th. At the tournament prior to the Wildcat Invitational, the GCU Invite, NAU had three golfers (Croft, Chekalina, Kocourkova) place in the top-25 individually.
