LAS VEGAS, Nev. (September 29, 2019) – The Northern Arizona women's tennis team completed play at the UNLV Fall Invitational on Sunday with freshman
Mimi Bland going undefeated in singles and doubles action. Bland finished the weekend with 2-1 records in both singles and doubles.
"We had a good weekend overall," said head coach
Ewa Bogusz. "The ladies dealt with some tough conditions and were able to bounce back after lost sets, and that says a lot about their character. I'm happy with our doubles performances. We have a solid base and now we're off to training before we hit the road in late October."
Bland notched her second singles win of the weekend in Flight Two, besting Delaware's Jojo Bach, 6-4, 6-1. She tied sophomore
Adrianna Sosnowska with two singles wins each this weekend.
Sosnowska was denied her third straight win and the Flight One singles championship by UNLV's Izumi Asano in a tough three-set battle. Sosnowska and Asano split the first two sets before Asano prevailed in the third set for a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory.
Sosnowska and Bland paired for their second win of the weekend in Flight One doubles, earning an 8-4 victory over Samantha Li and Connie Li of UNLV. They finished the weekend with a team-best 2-1 doubles mark.

As a team, the Lumberjacks compiled seven singles wins and four doubles victories in their second fall tournament of the season.
