DENVER, Colo. (January 21, 2020) – Northern Arizona's diver,
Jenny Cheetham, was honored as the WAC Diver of the Week for Jan. 13-19. This is the third time that Cheetham has earned this recognition so far this season.
This past weekend, Cheetham competed at the UCLA Diving Invite, a three-day invite running from Jan. 17-20. Among top schools like No. 4 Stanford, No. 9 Southern California and No. 24 Minnesota, Cheetham found her way into the finals in the 1-meter dive, placing 13th and taking a preliminary score of 260.30 with her. In the finals, Cheetham finished with a final tally of 493.85.
In the 3-meter, Cheetham was just about one point away from making it into the finals again, scoring a 244.10 preliminary dive to place 19th. On the platform, Cheetham outranked her WAC opponent from NMSU finishing up in 23rd with a score of 172.30.
The swimmers and the divers will be back this Friday, Jan. 24, for a 5 p.m. meet against Boise State. Following into Saturday, Jan. 25, the seniors will be honored as they finish the meet against the Broncos at 10:30 a.m.
