FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (June 10, 2020) – With one shot, Stallon Saldivar silenced the Arizona State faithful in the Wells Fargo Arena on Dec. 17, 2011. Saldivar's game-winning three-pointer with 0.6 seconds left on the clock lifted the Northern Arizona men's basketball team to a 69-68 victory over the Sun Devils.
This week, Saldivar is featured in NAU Athletics' Lumberjack Flashback video series, which will highlight top moments from the past decade. The Lumberjack Flashback will catch up with former student-athletes, who will provide insight as they reflect on some of NAU's most memorable moments.
NAU trailed 9-2 to start the game and Arizona State maintained a seven-point lead with seven and a half minutes remaining before the Lumberjacks' late surge. The 'Jacks ultimately picked up their second consecutive victory over their in-state rival in dramatic fashion behind Saldivar's outstanding effort as he finished the game with a career-high 24 points along with nine assists and five rebounds. Saldivar was lethal from behind the arc versus the Sun Devils, hitting 6-of-8 from deep.
