FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (June 18, 2020) – Isaiah Lewis appeared in 21 games and made two starts as a true freshman on the Northern Arizona men's basketball team last season.
The Little Elm, Texas native opened his first season with a bang, recording 13 points and six rebounds in the season opener at No. 21/17 Arizona. Lewis finished the 2019-20 campaign averaging 2.4 points and 1.1 rebounds per game as he was the only Lumberjack freshman to start a game.
Q: Where are you right now and what does a normal day look like for you?
A: My mom's house and a normal day is morning workouts (varies by day) and then at the house the rest of the day.
Q: What are you most looking forward to when you get back to competing on the court?
A: Being able to hoop with the team.
Q: What is motivating or encouraging you to push through these difficult times?
A: What motivates me is that we have the ability to be really good next year and I don't want to be left behind because I did not do my part.
Q: How did you first get into your sport?
A: I always played sports as a kid and by the fourth grade, I knew basketball was the sport for me.
Q: If you could be a dual-sport athlete at NAU, what sport would you compete in and why?
A: I would do high jump for the track team because I used to do high jump in middle school.
Q: If you could pick any other NAU student-athlete to try out your sport, who would it be and why?
A: I would choose Bryan Campbell. He used to hoop in Dallas so I know he has some skill.
Q: What is your best basketball memory ever?
A: My first college game against UofA. It was a great experience.
Q: What is your major and what are your career aspirations?
A: I am an Art major with a focus in New Media and my career aspirations are changing daily. I'm not sure what I want to do after school.
