Lumberjacks Hit the Road for Last Matches of Regular Season

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (October 20, 2021) - NAU Soccer heads to Sacramento and Portland for last two matches of the regular season on Friday and Sunday.

The Lumberjacks will take on the Sacramento State Hornets on Friday afternoon with a kickoff time of 3:30 p.m, and you can stream the match on ESPN+ here. On Sunday, NAU heads to Portland State to face the Vikings with a kickoff time of 12 p.m. MST, and you can stream the match on ESPN+ here.

The Lumberjacks are coming off their fourth straight win on Sunday against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds. NAU leads the Big Sky Conference in shots with 227 and shots on goal while averaging 8.3 per game. The 'Jacks also lead the conference in goals scored with 27. Senior forward Madison Montgomery leads the conference in shots (3.56 per game), and shots on goal (2.44 per game) while coming in second in goals (6) and assists (5).

In goal for the Lumberjacks, freshman Natalie Manzo continues to prove herself in the box for NAU in her 1,271 minutes recorded. Manzo has 76 saves throughout the season with a save percentage of .760 and a goals allowed percentage of 1.70. Manzo has played a key role in the teams five total shutouts through the season.

Sacramento State has a season record of 4-9-2, while 3-4 in conference play. The Hornets are coming off one win to Idaho State, with a lone goal coming from freshman Abigail Lopez. Lopez leads the Hornets offense with four goals and two assists, recording a shots on goal percentage of .600. Following the freshman is seniors Samantha Craig and Ele Avery who each have three goals a piece.

In goal for Sacramento is senior Katie Price, who has started in nine matches for the Hornets. Price has recorded 856 minutes on the season, allowing 15 goals and holds a save percentage of .766.

Heading into the weekend Portland State holds a season record of 4-9-1, while 2-3-1 in Big Sky matchups. The Vikings suffered two losses this past weekend to Idaho State (0-2) and to Weber State (2-3). Leading the Vikings offensive successes is freshman Abi Hoffman and sophomore Ani Jensen who each have three goals and one assist a piece.

In goal for the Vikings is sophomore Sidney O'billovich who has 947 minutes in the net for Portland this season, making nine starts. O'billovich has allowed 20 goals in her nine matches, adding 67 saves and a save percentage of .770.
