FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 3, 2021) – Set for a pair of matches his week in Tucson, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks will look to get back in the win column as they face off with the Arizona Wildcats and Gonzaga Bulldogs.

During their abbreviated season a year ago, the Lumberjacks fell to the Wildcats 4-3 in Tucson as they took the doubles point to start the day and then won on Courts 1 and 4. Meanwhile, NAU and Gonzaga will face off for the first time since March 2014. The trip will be NAU's last out of Flagstaff until March 12, with the Lumberjacks set to host three matches across the next four weeks.

"Those are two good teams that we are going to face this week," said NAU head coach Ewa Bogusz. "Yes they are strong, but we are looking forward to showing them what we have got and I think if we perform as good as we did last weekend, or slightly better because that's what we are looking for, then I think we are in good shape."

Arizona's Emily Maxfield should offer NAU another match against a nationally-ranked opponent, with the Wildcat senior opening the year a No. 90 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Singles rankings. A transfer from the University of San Francisco, Maxfield played No. 2 for the Dons and finished the 2020 season ranked No. 87. After opening the season with team victories over Grand Canyon, New Mexico State and UTEP, Arizona fell to Texas Tech 4-1 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga enters the weekend at 3-0 with victories over Big Sky Conference members Montana and Eastern Washington in addition to a win against Oregon. The Bulldogs dropped just one singles point between in its two matches against Montana and EWU, with the Eagles taking the doubles point in their 5-2 loss. Montana took just one singles set in its 7-0 loss.

Former Lumberjack Adrianna Sosnowska is set to face off with her former teammates on Friday's match. Sosnowska is 3-0 at the No. 2 singles spot for the Bulldogs and has paired at the top doubles spot in all three contests.
