FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Dec. 11, 2024) — Northern Arizona swimmer Cydnie Perkins has been named the Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week, marking the third Lumberjack to receive honors this season. It would be Perkins' first time receiving the award in her career.
Perkins, a junior from Scottsdale, Arizona, led the Lumberjacks to victory over Utah Tech, securing two individual wins and contributing to a relay triumph.Â
She placed first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:18.00 and in the 100-yard breaststroke clocking in at 1:04.35.
She also earned second place in the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.21) and the 50-yard breaststroke (29.81).Â
Additionally, Perkins anchored the NAU A team to victory in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:45.51.
The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team will compete against Arizona on Jan. 3 in Tucson, Arizona.Â
