FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 28, 2024) – The NAU women's tennis team is headed to Las Vegas, Nev. this weekend for a busy weekend in which they will face Utah Tech, Rice, and UNLV.
NAU is coming off a weekend in which they went 0-2 against Colorado and Colorado State. The team looks to earn an even record on the season following their matches.
The Lumberjacks will begin their weekend facing the Utah Tech Trailblazers at 11:00 a.m. MST on Friday. The Trailblazers are looking to earn a .500 record after starting 4-5 this season, with wins against Arizona Christian, Mesa Community College, and Ottawa University Arizona. Utah Tech has losses against Utah, Montana State, Utah State, Weber State, and Idaho State.
NAU will then take on the Rice Owls on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. MST. The Owls are 3-6 so far this season, with their wins coming against Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, and No. 61 UTSA. Rice has losses against Harvard, TCU, Northwestern, LSU, No. 11 Texas A&M, and No. 12 San Diego.
The 'Jacks will finish out their weekend by facing the hosting No. 69 UNLV Rebels on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. MST. The Rebels are 6-2 this season, seeing wins against Weber State, Pacific, Youngstown State, New Mexico State, Texas San Antonio, and UMKC. Their losses came against Maryland and Colorado.
