SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 24, 2024) – The NAU women's tennis team fell 5-2 to conference rival Sacramento State.
"The team has been improving a lot on the doubles' courts," said Assistant Coach
Maciej Bogusz. "It has shown a lot in the results during this trip."
The Lumberjacks began their day winning the doubles point, with wins on courts one and three.
Daryna Shoshyna and
Dolavee Tumthong competed on court one, taking an easy 6-3 victory.
Patrycja Niewiadomska and
Laura Duhl dropped their match on court two 6-3.
Ana Karen Guadiana Campos and
Andrea Noguera defeated their opponents 6-1 on court three as the 'Jacks earned the first point of the day.
Laura Duhl competed on court six for NAU, dropping consecutive sets 6-3, 6-1.
Ava Neyestani played on court five once again, losing in a close 6-4 first set before dropping her second set 6-1.
Dolave Tumthong dropped her first set on court four 6-4, eventually losing her second 6-2.
Daryna Shoshyna lost her first set on court two 6-3, before bouncing back in the second set to win it 6-3. She earned the second point of the day for NAU with a 6-2 win in her second set.
Ana Karen Guadiana Campos dropped her first set 6-4 on court three before fighting back in the second to easily win 6-3. Despite putting up a tough fight, she dopped her third set 6-3.
Patrycja Niewiadomska won her first set on court one 6-4, before dropping her next two sets 6-2, 6-3 to end the day for NAU.
