Four Lumberjacks Earn All-Big Sky Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah (March 7, 2024) – Highlighted by Sophie Glancey's unanimous first team All-Big Sky honor, four Northern Arizona University women's basketball players have been named to All-Big Sky Conference teams. The awards are voted on by the league's 10 head coaches and were announced this afternoon ahead of this week's Big Sky Basketball Championships in Boise, Idaho.

Joining Glancey was junior Leia Beattie on the second team All-Big Sky while fifth-year senior Emily Rodabaugh and junior Olivia Moran received honorable mention nods.

The individual awards were handed out to Eastern Washington's Jamie Loera who was voted Most Valuable Player and was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season. EWU's Joddie Gleason was named Coach of the Year and Freshman of the Year went to Summah Hanson from Sacramento State. The entire list of the 2024 All-Big Sky teams can be found below.

Glancey had a standout sophomore season that saw her lead the league in conference-only games with 17.4 points per game. She ranked first in the conference in field goal percentage (123-233, 52.8%) and offensive rebounds (3.1 orpg), third in rebounding (7.7 rpg), and second in blocked shots (1.2 bpg). Through all games, she led NAU and ranked second in the conference with 15.2 points per game, fourth in rebounds with 7.2 per game, second in blocked shots (1.2 bpg) and continued to lead the league in field goal percentage, making 52.8 percent of her attempts from the field this season.

The Boise, Idaho, native was the only Lumberjack to play in and start all 31 games this year. A three-time Big Sky Player of the Week, Glancey scored in double figures 24 times with nine 20-plus point performances including consecutive 30-point games on the road at Montana and Montana State. She earned four double-doubles on the year, pulling down 13 rebounds on two different occasions.

Glancey's 471 points rank 10th all-time on the single season scoring list, while her 188 field goals made ranks fifth. It is the first career All-Big Sky honor for the sophomore.

Beattie transferred in from Montana State where she was named the league's Top Reserve of the Year and earned All-Big Sky honorable mention in 2022-23, now claiming second team honors in her first year as a Lumberjack. The junior ranked second on the team in scoring with 11.7 points per game and gave opponents nothing but trouble from behind the three-point line, making 68 of her 162 attempts to rank second in the league in three-point percentage (42.0%).

She ranked fifth in the league with 2.2 triples per game, and in conference-only contests she led the league in three-point percentage with 43.5 percent (47-108), ranking second with 2.6 per game. The Midland, Texas, native made at least two three-pointers in 19 games including six with four or more. Both of Beattie's double-doubles came in consecutive road contests at Montana and Montana State and in a road win at Portland State, she scored a career-high 27 points with five made three-pointers. Beattie also ranked third on the team in rebounds (4.9), second in assists (2.7) and second in steals (1.3).

A fifth-year senior, Rodabaugh adds to her decorated career with her first All-Big Sky honorable mention nod. Rodabaugh ranks in the top-ten in eight different career categories at NAU, including the program's all-time leader in three-pointers made (243) and three-pointers attempted (671). She also is sixth on the all-time scoring list (1,343), fifth all time in blocks (99), 10th in steals (170), second in games played (146), seventh in rebounds (649) and fourth in minutes played (3,744).

This season, the Lynnwood, Wash., native ranked third on the team with 11.5 points per game and was second in rebounding with 5.5 per contest. She ranked 13th in the Big Sky in scoring and 14th in rebounding. Rodabaugh continued to make her mark from three-point range, ranking sixth in the conference in three-point percentage (37.0) and fourth in three-pointers made per game with 2.3, making 68 total on the year which is currently tied for sixth along with Beattie on NAU's single-season three-pointers made list.

Rodabaugh scored in double figures in 20 games with a pair of 20-point performances. She made over two three-pointers in 11 games with a career-best 7-of-10 in a win over Montana State.

Olivia Moran started six games but primarily provided the first spark off the bench en route to the first All-Big Sky honor of her career. Averaging a career-high 8.9 points per game, Moran ranks second on the team in scoring and averages 23.0 minutes per game. She ranks 10th in conference-only games in free throw percentage and scored in double figures in 14 games. On the season, the Riverside, Calif., native added 1.8 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game, shooting 39.3 percent from the field and 79.5 percent from the free throw line. In a win over Idaho State on the road, she scored a season-high 19 points.

Northern Arizona finished second in the regular season with the most overall wins in program history at 23-8, tying the program record for conference victories with a 15-3 record. The No. 2 Lumberjacks take on the winner of No. 7 Idaho State/No. 8 Sacramento State in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Championships on Sunday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. Mountain Standard time in Boise, Idaho.
