OGDEN, Utah (March 9, 2024) – The NAU women's tennis team fell 3-4 to the Weber State Wildcats in their first conference match of the season.
The Lumberjacks began their day with a strong doubles effort, eventually losing the first point of the match.
Ana Karen Guadiana Campos and
Daryna Shoshyna played on court one, falling to their opponents 4-6.
Dolavee Tumthon and
Ava Neyestani dropped their match on court three 2-6.
Patrycja Niewiadomska and
Andrea Noguera pushed their match to a 5-5 tie on court two before it was left unfinished.
Patrycja Niewiadomska continud to take the first spot in the singles lineup for the 'Jacks, dropping her match in consecutive 1-6, 2-6 sets.
Ana Karen Guadiana Campos won her match on court two with a 6-4, 6-3 victory.
Daryna Shoshyna fought hard on court three, dropping her first set 4-6 before coming back in the second to take it 6-4. She eventually lost her third set 3-6.
Dolavee Tumthong saw an easy victory on court four, winning in 6-0, 6-2 sets.
Ava Neyestani took her first set on court five, winning 6-3. She dropped her second set 4-6 before losing the third 1-6.
Andrea Noguera lost her first set 1-6 before coming back strong and pushing her next two to a tiebreaker. She won the second set 7-5 and the third 7-6 to earn a point for the 'Jacks.
