FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Jan. 2, 2025) – The Northern Arizona women's swimming and diving team will take on the Arizona Wildcats in their first meet of 2025. The 'Jacks will travel to the Hillenbrand Aquatic Center in Tucson, Arizona, to compete against their in-state rivals on Friday, Jan. 3, starting at 2:00 p.m. Mountain Standard time.
The Lumberjacks previously faced the Wildcats at the start of the 2024-2025 season during the All-Arizona D1 Quad, where Arizona defeated NAU 201-79.
Northern Arizona last competed against Utah Tech in early December, securing consecutive victories with scores of 58-47 and 143-103. Cydnie Perkins, a junior from Scottsdale, Arizona, was named the Western Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week after earning two individual wins and contributing to a relay triumph.
The Wildcats are coming off a commanding 217-131 victory over fellow Big 12 opponent BYU in their final home meet of 2024.
Friday's events will include the 400 Medley Relay, 1000 Free, 200 Free, 50 Free, 200 Individual Medley, 200 Butterfly, 100 Free, 200 Backstroke, 500 Free, 200 Breaststroke, and 200 Freestyle Relay. The diving competition is scheduled to begin at 2:10 p.m. MST.
