RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Jan. 9, 2024) - The Northern Arizona women's diving team wrapped up the first day of the Lancer Dive Invite, hosted by California Baptist University.
The Lumberjacks dominated the 3-meter championship preliminaries, securing the top three spots.
"We aren't always excited to dive outside, and the team showed great resilience and dived very well," head diving coach Nikki Kelsey said. "I am very proud of all of them."
In the preliminary round, Mackenna Stocker claimed first place with a score of 272.95 and went on to finish second in the finals with a score of 296.05.
Senior Kendall Marquez placed second in the preliminaries with a score of 265.40. She finished fourth overall with a final score of 281.05 and made an NCAA zone cut for the first time.
Margaret Wesche took third place in the prelims with a score of 264.00 and secured seventh place in the finals with a score of 263.25.
Grace Wesche maintained her sixth-place position through both rounds, scoring 249.45 in the preliminaries and 271.50 in the finals.
Victoria Knapp placed 10th in the preliminary round with a score of 231.15 but made significant improvements in the finals, finishing in fifth place with a score of 276.65.
The second day of the meet will begin at 12:00 p.m. Mountain Standard time, with live results of the women's platform event available on DiveMeets.
