Ty Pennington Named to Walter Camp FCS Player of the Year Watch List

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (November 20, 2025) – Ty Pennington was named one of 15 players to the Walter Camp FCS Player of the Year Watch List in a release by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Pennington is one of two players from the Big Sky on the watch list, which includes five running backs, four quarterbacks, three wide receivers and three defensive players.

The second-year Lumberjack quarterback is enjoying an exceptional season heading into Saturday's regular season finale at Weber State.

Pennington has completed 230-of-343 passes for 17 touchdowns and three interceptions. The Sand Springs, Okla. native ranks sixth in the FCS in passing yards (2,866) and eighth in passing yards per game (260.5). In addition, he is top 15 in the country in completions per game (20.9), completion percentage (.671) and total offense (276.3).

Last week, Pennington became the ninth Lumberjack to cross 5,000 career passing yards during a performance that included a career-high four touchdowns in the 35-27 win versus Cal Poly.

The Walter Camp FCS Player of the Year, presented by Crabtree Lexus of New Haven, will be determined in mid-December. It is the third year the award will be presented. Former Montana State quarterback Tommy Mellott was last year's recipient.
