NAU Women's Tennis Gears Up For 2026 Spring Season

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz (December 15, 2025) – Coming off its seventh Big Sky Regular Season title in 2025, the Northern Arizona women's tennis team has unveiled its 2026 Spring schedule. The Lumberjacks are seeking to go back-to-back on Big Sky Regular Season titles and aiming to win their sixth Big Sky Tournament Championship.

The campaign includes six home matches and eight matches on the road. The 'Jacks start their journey on January 19 when they drive down to Tucson, Arizona to take on the Arizona Wildcats, one of two non-conference teams that the Lumberjacks will meet for the second consecutive season.

The Lumberjacks return to Flagstaff on Jan. 30 to face off against New Mexico State in their home opener. Then they will welcome the Air Force Falcons two days later for the first match in February.

After the two home matches NAU will spend nearly a month away from Flagstaff from Feb. 21 through March 15, the Lumberjacks will have their first Big Sky Conference test against the Weber State Wildcats in Ogden, Utah on March 1.

From Utah the Lumberjacks will go to Sin City to take on the UNLV Rebels. The Rebels came to Flagstaff to compete in the Lumberjack Classic in the Fall season, during which Elen Jantacova and Natalie Rainke were able to secure singles wins.

The Lumberjacks then travel to Sacramento, California in a rematch of the Big Sky Championship match against Sacramento State. Once NAU finishes their match against the Hornets, they will return home to round out the month of March with a span of three matches in one week, facing Portland State on March 22, Idaho State on March 26, and Eastern Washington on March 26.

NAU will take on both of the Montana schools to begin April as they first go to Bozeman to face the Montana State Bobcats on April 3, then a quick turnaround the next day to play against Montana in Missoula.

On April 11, head coach Ewa Bouguz and the Lumberjack family will honor lone senior Patrycja Niewiadomska in the final home match of the season against the Idaho Vandals. Niewiadomska has been a Lumberjack all four years of her collegiate career.

NAU will travel to San Diego, California to close out the season against UC San Diego on April 18, before traveling down to the valley to compete in the Big Sky Championships which are set to begin on April 23 in Phoenix.

All of the Jacks' home matches begin at 10 a.m. and are played at the NAU Tennis Center.
