FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 28, 2025) – The NAU Women's Tennis team will play the New Mexico Lobos on Sunday, March 2.
The Lumberjacks are coming off of a win that they picked up against Idaho State, 7-0. This Match saw dominating performances from Patrycja Niewiadomska and Elena Jantacova as they both came away with straight set wins in singles. Niewiadomska got a bagel as she won her match, 7-5, 6-0. Jantacova Took control of her singles match right from the get go, winning by the scoreline of 6-1, 6-4.
In NAU's upcoming match against the Lobos, the Lumberjacks are seeking to get payback after they lost the last matchup between these schools in 2024. The match was tight, but ultimately, the Lobos came out on top, 4-3.
NAU and New Mexico have a 7-7 record all-time, with the last time the Lumberjacks beat the Lobos, during the 2022 season. This match will be the decider of which school will have the head to head advantage.
