FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (Mar. 10, 2025) — The Northern Arizona women's diving team competed in the 3-meter event on the first day of the NCAA Zone E Championships today.
"They all did great in the prelims - they were very consistent with their dives and were hunting for it," head diving coach Nikki Kelsey said. "Maggie and Grace were among the top 8–10 for a few rounds, which was great to see. Grace and Mack were jumping to the moon to give themselves a chance, and although they finished in the mid-20s, they were still close to a finals spot. It was exciting for Vic to qualify for the finals, and she did well, especially on her 3 ½ dive. The girls were solid despite a tough meet, and we are looking forward to tomorrow."
In the preliminary round, Victoria Knapp, the 2025 WAC 1-meter and 3-meter champion, scored 273.40 to qualify for the finals. The final featured 18 of the initial 54 divers, where Knapp scored 534.55 to place 17th.
The top eight final divers earned a ticket to the National Championships.
Margaret Wesche scored 270.35 in the prelims, missing a finals spot by just 0.05 points. Grace Wesche posted a score of 255.15 for 27th place, while Mackenna Stocker followed in 28th with 253.70.
Tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. Mountain Standard time, the platform event will get underway. Catalina Devia will join Stocker, Margaret, and Grace Wesche in competing for a spot in the finals. Live results will be available via DiveMeets.
