FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 11, 2025) – NAU Women's Tennis extend its win streak to four-straight with a 5-2 victory over the Richmond Spiders on Tuesday afternoon.
The Jacks bounced back from dropping the doubles point in their last match out, as NAU's duo of
Andrea Noguera and
Ruslana Kovalenko grabbed a dominant 6-1 win at the No. 3 slot over the Spiders pairing of Cliar Le Du and Lainey O'Neil.
Daryna Shoshyna and
Elen Jantacova battled for the 7-5 victory at the No. 2, knocking Richmond's pairing of Sofia Barbulescu and Elizabeth Novak.
In singles play, Shosyhna quickly proved her dominance with the 6-0, 6-0 sweep at the No. 2, putting the Jacks up 2-0. Janatacova then dropped at the No. 4 in 6-0, 6-2 fashion, followed by Richmond tying the match up at the No. 5 as Novak earned back-to-back 6-2 sets over Kovalenko.
Patrycja Niewiadomska put the jacks back on top with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Barbulescu with
Andrea Noguera clinching it for the Jacks at the No. 3, grabbing the three-set victory at 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.
Leontina Stojanovic added the cushion point for the Jacks at the No. 6, in a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 final.
