FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 19, 2025) – Northern Arizona Women's Tennis (9-3, 4-0 Big Sky) is set to host Grand Canyon tomorrow morning in a lone matchup in Flagstaff this week for the Jacks.
NAU is currently riding a six-match win streak, with the Lumberjacks last loss coming over a month ago on Feb. 14 at Wyoming. Northern Arizona is boasting a 55-15 singles record as a team, led by
Daryna Shoshyna and
Andrea Noguera who each hold an 11-1 overall singles record. Shoshyna is coming off her first Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honor, following a 4-0 weekend on the road at Idaho and Eastern Washington.
On the doubles courts, the Lumberjacks hold a 20-12 team record, led by Shoshyna and partner
Elen Jantacova who hold an 8-3 record together, primarily playing at the No. 1 position.
Laura Duhl and
Patrycja Niewiadomska hold a 4-3 doubles record, primarily playing at the No. 2, while Noguera and
Ruslana Kovalenko hold a 3-3 record at the No. 3.
The Lopes are coming into Thursday's match looking to bounce back from a Sunday 5-0 loss at Arizona. Prior to that loss, the Lopes had picked up three-straight victories with wins over New Mexico, UC Riverside, and Montana State. As a team, GCU holds a 40-27 singles record, led by an 9-2 record from Bella Crossman, primarily playing at the No. 4. The Lopes are 17-20 in doubles play.
