TUCSON, Ariz. (March 22, 2025) – The Northern Arizona track and field team concluded the opening weekend of the outdoor season today by setting four new all-time top ten marks at the Willie Williams Classic in Tucson, Ariz.

The Lumberjack women set three new top ten marks today, led by
LiNay Perry who won the 400-meters with a time of 52.77 for a new personal best that ranks third all-time in program history. In her 100-meter hurdle debut,
Sydnie Watkins ran the 10
th fastest time in program history, clocking 14.37. The women's 4x100-meter relay team also snuck into the top ten list, clocking 45.61.

A day after setting two new top ten marks in both the discus and the hammer throw,
Desmond Lott collected his third of the weekend in the shot put, tossing 17.10-meters which ranks 10
th all-time at NAU.

On the track for the men, the 4x100-meter relay team placed fifth with a time of 40.65. Also in the sprints,
Luke Yruretagoyena was the top finisher in the men's 400-meters with a time of 48.21.
Josiah Johnson placed 10
th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.60.
Lamar Smith and
Khamis Hassan placed eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 100-meters with Smith clocking 10.55 and Hassan running 10.57.

Watkins also came close to another top ten mark in the 100-meters, placing 15
th in 11.89. The women's 4x400-meter relay team placed seventh with a time of 3:50.40.
The men ran two 4x400-meter relay teams, placing sixth in 3:15.55 and ninth in 3:21.16.

After a week break, NAU will split squads as the distance runners will head to the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., and the sprinters, jumpers and throwers will all compete at the UNLV Rebel ELITE in Las Vegas, Nev., from April 4-5. Â
