PHOENIX, Ariz. (March 30, 2025) - The Northern Arizona women's golf team completed the third and final round of the PING/ASU Invitational at the Papago Golf Club. The team shot a total of 302 (+14) today for a 54-hole total of 887 (+23), placing them 10th.
Arizona State claimed the title by 13 strokes over Northwestern, finishing with a final score of -36. Northwestern's Dianna Lee was the individual champion with a 54-hole score of 206 (-10).
"We had the wonderful opportunity to play at the PING/ASU Invitational and had an overall great experience," head coach Brad Bedortha said. "Today, we didn't perform the way we had hoped, but we still had some positive moments. We will learn from the experience and move forward, as we are a great team with strong potential. We look forward to preparing for the Big Sky Conference Championships at the Wigwam in a couple of weeks!"
For Northern Arizona, Lizzie Neale was the top finisher with a +4 total after a round of 76 (+4) today. She was tied first in the field with the most pars made at 42.
Amy Hodgkins placed solo 37th with a round of 74 (+2) today, bringing her total to +5 for the tournament. Her total of 36 pars for the tournament was ranked tied for 23rd, and seven birdies were tied for 39th.
Nina Lukyanenko finished with a +6 total after a round of 76 (+4), tying for 28th individually. She made 37 pars over the three rounds, which was tied for 17th, and seven birdies to also be tied 39th with Hodgkins.
Frankie Dezis also carded a 76 (+4), putting her in a tie for 55th with a +10 total. She picked up a single birdie on the 11th hole to add to her six overall and carded 35 pars.
Ellena Slater rounded out the lineup, shooting an 80 (+8). Her total score of +15 tied her for 65th. She recorded five birdies and 33 pars for the event.
Sumin Kang competed as an individual and moved up five places on the leaderboard for a solo 63rd. Her 73 (+1) today brought her total to +13. Along with Hodgkins, she also tallied 36 pars.
As a team, the Lumberjacks secured 29 total birdies, placing 10th in that category, and tied with Northwestern for first in total pars with 183.
Up next, the 'Jacks will compete in the Big Sky Conference Championship from April 14-16 at the Wigwam Blue Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
