Northern Arizona Women’s Diving Set for NCAA Zone E Championships After Dominant WAC Performance

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Mar. 8, 2025) – 10 days after securing their 12th consecutive Western Athletic Conference championship, the Northern Arizona women's diving team is set to compete in the NCAA Diving Zone E Championships from March 10-12. The competition, hosted by Utah, will take place at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash.

At the WAC Championships, Victoria Knapp claimed two gold medals. She won the 3-meter event with a score of 305.05, while Mackenna Stocker secured silver with 304.35. Margaret Wesche completed the Lumberjacks' podium sweep, finishing third with 294.50 points. Grace Wesche placed fifth with a score of 269.75.

In the 1-meter championship, Knapp captured her second gold medal with a score of 280.60, marking her fifth consecutive title in the event. Grace Wesche followed closely in second with 279.20, while Catalina Devia rounded out another podium sweep, earning bronze with 273.10.

The platform finals featured four Lumberjacks. Margaret Wesche was the team's top finisher, placing fourth with a score of 232.15. Grace Wesche followed in fifth (228.25), Devia took sixth (222.50), and Stocker finished eighth (210.75).

The NCAA Zone E Championships will begin Monday with the 3-meter event, featuring 53 divers in the preliminary round. The platform competition will take place on Tuesday, with 36 divers competing in the prelims. Wednesday's schedule includes the 1-meter event, once again with 53 divers vying for a spot in the finals.

Preliminary rounds will start each day at 11:30 a.m. Mountain Standard time, followed by finals at 2:45 p.m. MST.

Knapp, Stocker, and Margaret and Grace Wesche have qualified to compete in all three events, while Devia will participate in the 1-meter and platform competitions.
