FARMINGTON, Utah (July 15, 2025) -Â Capping off a successful year in the classroom and in competition, a total of 55 Northern Arizona University student-athletes were named to the Big Sky Conference's Spring All-Academic Team, as announced this afternoon by the league office.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at their current Big Sky institution.Â

For outdoor track and field student-athletes, they must have participated in at least half of the team's competitions or competed at the conference championship.

The Lumberjacks were represented by five golfers, seven men's and six women's tennis players, 19 women's outdoor track and field members plus 18 on the men's side to round out the selections. Of the 55 honorees, 10 student-athletes hold a perfect 4.0 GPA with 40 boasting GPAs over a 3.5.

Northern Arizona claimed four championships during the Spring season, with the tennis teams sweeping the regular Big Sky titles and the men's and women's track and field teams claiming championships outdoors in Sacramento, Calif. As a result, the NAU Athletic Department swept the Big Sky All-Sport Trophies.

Together, the Northern Arizona Athletic Department had a lot to celebrate during the Spring semester, as Lumberjack student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.45 with 12 teams earning a GPA of a 3.2 or higher. Additionally, women's soccer, swimming and diving, volleyball, golf, women's cross country, women's basketball and women's tennis turned in a GPA over 3.6.

Individually, 54.23 percent of the student-athlete body made the Dean's List. Nine teams had at least 50 percent of their roster on the Dean's List, with 93 student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 GPAs.

The NAU football program also celebrated its accomplishment of earning a 3.34 GPA, the highest in program history with 73 Northern Arizona student-athletes earning their degrees during the 2024-25 academic year.
