Women’s Tennis Picked Second in Big Sky Preseason Poll

FARMINGTON, Utah (January 14, 2026) – In a vote by the league's head coaches, the Northern Arizona women's tennis team was picked to finish second in the Big Sky Conference, announced this morning.

NAU finished 14-3 and a perfect 8-0 in Big Sky matches in the 2025 Spring season. The Lumberjacks return four players from last years' squad, highlighted by senior Patrycja Niewiadomska, who competed in the ITA All-American Championships this past fall. Niewiadomska amassed a 14-2 overall record in 2025, including a perfect 9-0 in matches on court two.

Andrea Noguera, Leontina Stojanovic, and Elen Jantacova round out the returners, while junior Natalie Rainke joins the squad from at Valdosta State where she went 19-17 over two seasons. Amongst the freshman class are Phoenix native Mia Wolter and Canadian Madelynne Ludwig.

NAU opens the season next week as it travels south to Tucson to face Arizona. Opening serve is at 5 p.m. and can be stream at this link.
