TUCSON, Ariz. (January 19, 2026) – The Northern Arizona women's tennis team fell in its season opener on the road to the Wildcats, 6-1.
Natalie Rainke picked up the lone point for NAU in her first dual competition as a Lumberjack.
Arizona took the doubles point with wins from Martyna Ostrzygalo and Ciara Moore in a close 7-5 affair, and Josie Usereau and Stephanie Shogreen over
Leontina Stojanovic and
Mia Wolter, 6-0.
The Wildcats then clinched the match with three singles wins from Usereau, Maria Garcia, and Moore each in straight sets. Niewiadomska continued to fight on court one and pushed her match to three sets before ultimately falling, while Rainke won her first set and bounced back after being shutout in the second to the pick up her win on court three.
