FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (January 30, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's tennis team couldn't hold off a furious New Mexico State rally and fell to the Aggies, 4-3 on Friday morning inside the NAU Tennis Center.
The Lumberjacks started the day off hot by winning the doubles point in roughly 40 minutes. In singles, they also began very strong, grabbing two wins in straight sets. At the No. 1 position Patjyca Niewiadomska notched a double bagel by Winning 6-0, 6-0, while Elen Jantacova took her match on court four also in straight sets, putting NAU up 3-0. The victory is Niewiadomska's second in a row this season.
The Aggies would comeback, winning three singles matches in a row to set up the clinch on court five. Leotina Stojanovic found herself down 5-1 in the third set and battled her way back into the match, down 5-4 in the third. She then fell in tiebreakers as NMSU completed its rally.
