Lumberjacks Stymied at Home Against Bears

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (February 21, 2026) – The Northern Arizona women's basketball team suffered an 83-51 loss to Northern Colorado on Saturday afternoon on Findlay Toyota Court inside the Walkup Skydome.

NAU (10-18, 6-9 Big Sky) sees a three-game win streak come to a halt, while Northern Colorado improves to 20-8 and 11-4 in league play.

Layla Davis and Kayla Williams paced NAU with 15 and 10 points, respectively. J'Bionna Robinson recorded six points and two steals in 31 minutes, while Addison Dunn went for a career-high six points in just under seven minutes of action off the bench.

NAU was held to a season-low 19 first-half points, including just seven in the second quarter, as the Bears scored 33 points off 23 NAU turnovers for the contest. Northern Colorado outrebounded the Jacks, 35-29, and took advantage of 21 second-chance points to NAU's 10.

The Lumberjacks connected on their first three attempts from the floor and led 6-3 following a Madison Watts layup at the 7:28 mark of the opening period. The Bears then responded with an 8-0 run to capture an 11-6 lead halfway through the period and led 21-12 after one.

The second period saw the Jacks held scoreless until the 6:13 mark of the quarter, while the Bears grabbed 12 points in the paint to race out to a double-digit lead and as many as 19 before the half ended in a 37-19 lead for the visitors.

UNC kept its foot on the gas in the third period, forcing seven Lumberjack turnovers in the quarter to push its lead to 60-34 going into the final frame. NAU would then face its largest deficit of season of 36 in the final minutes as the Bears closed out the game.

NAU will remain at Flagstaff and play its final home game of the season on Thursday, Feb. 26 against Idaho, celebrating three graduating student-athletes prior to tipoff. Game time with the Vandals is scheduled for 6 p.m. MST and will be streamed on ESPN+.
