Niewiadomska Picks Up Singles Win in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (March 15, 2026) – Senior Patrycja Niewiadomska improved her record in singles to 5-2 on the season as the Northern Arizona women's tennis team fell 6-1 at Sacramento State on Sunday afternoon.

NAU moves to 2-5 and 1-1 in Big Sky Conference action while the Hornets improve to 11-4 and 3-0 in conference matches.

The Jacks made doubles play competitive, with Natalie Rainke and Elen Jantacova pushing their match to a tiebreaker on court one. The Hornets ultimately took all three courts to jump out to the 1-0 lead. After a retirement on court six made it a 2-0 deficit for NAU, the Hornets put themselves on the brink of a clinch with a win on court five.

Natalie Rainke fought hard again on court two but fell in straight sets as the Hornets clinched with a 4-0 lead.

Following two more wins for the Hornets on courts three and four, Niewiadomska ended the match on a positive note as she picked up a win in two tiebreaker sets on court one.
