Lumberjacks Get Back in the Win Column, Take Down Vikings, 6-1

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 22, 2026) -The Northern Arizona women's tennis team notched their second Big Sky victory on Sunday by defeating the Portland State Vikings, 6-1, highlighted by Andrea Noguera's snapping of opponent Marta Giglio's eight-match winning streak in singles play.

The Lumberjacks (3-5, 2-1 Big Sky) got right down to business, earning the doubles point on courts one and three after two quick 6-0 matches that lasted for 25 minutes. 

Singles competition was a similar story, with Patrycja Niewiadomska getting a straight set win, moving her record to 6-2 on the season. 

Natalie Rainke and Elen Jantacova followed Niewiadomska's suit as they both grabbed straight set triumphs to clinch the match at 4-0. It marked the first singles wins for both players since the match against Weber State on March 1.

Leotina Stojanovic and Noguera battled out their matches after they both fell short in the first sets in their respective matches. With grit and determination, both Jacks came out victorious in the end, winning in third set tiebreakers. 

The Lumberjacks will look to win two in a row on Thursday as they take on the Idaho State Bengals at the NAU Tennis Center at 10 a.m. MST. Matches are free to attend to the public and can be followed online on live stats.
