NAU Looks to Bounce Back against Vikings

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (March 20, 2026) - The Northern Arizona women's tennis team will seek to stay afloat in Big Sky Conference play against the Portland State Vikings this weekend. NAU will host the Vikings in its third home match of the season and the first one outdoors in 2026 on Sunday, March 22 at the NAU Tennis Center. Opening serve is at 10 a.m. MST, and all matches are free to attend.
 
The Jacks most recently suffered a 6-1 defeat against the No. 58 Sacramento State in California and enters this weekend with a 2-5 record and 1-1 mark in league matches. NAU's wins so far on the season were over Weber State on the road and Air Force in Flagstaff, both 5-2 decisions. 
 
Portland State is entering this matchup with a 5-4 record and one win in Big Sky play. The victory came down to the final singles match as they narrowly came out on top over the Montana Grizzlies, 4-3.
 
Patrycja Niewiadomska leads the Lumberjacks with a 5-2 record in singles. The only losses that she has have come against the Arizona Wildcats and the UNLV Rebels. Niewiadomska's fifth and most recent win came against the Hornets No. 1 Reese Walker in straight sets 7-5, 7-6(2).
