Niewiadomska Grabs Second Big Sky Player of the Week Nod

FARMINGTON, Utah (April 1, 2026) – Northern Arizona women's tennis senior Patrycja Niewiadomska has been named Big Sky Player of the Week, the league announced Wednesday morning. It marks her second weekly award this season, as she was last named Player of the Week on Feb. 4.

The laurel comes on the heels of a 2-0 week for the Jacks, who are on a season-long three-game win streak. NAU took care of Idaho State, winners of eight in a row, and Eastern Washington last week and now sit second in the league standings with a 5-5 record and 4-1 mark in conference matches.

Niewiadomska was crucial in both matches, as she went won in doubles by scores of 6-4 and 6-1 with fellow Lumberjack Andrea Noguera at the No. 2 position, helping NAU secure the doubles point in both matches.

The native of Bielsko-Biala, Poland, also was also a force to be reckoned with in singles. Niewiadomska clinched the match over the Bengals with a 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over Millie Day and then rallied for a tiebreaker win in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(10-3) over Leandra Nizetic to close out the day against Eastern Washington. She holds a team-best 8-2 record in singles this season and has won four in a row, all playing at the No. 1 position.

The Lumberjacks hit the road this week for the Big Sky state, scheduled for matches with Montana State on April 3 and Montana on April 4.
