NAU stands at 7-6 and 6-2 in Big Sky Conference play, and have clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Championships starting next week on Friday, April 24. The Jacks took a dominant 6-1 win over Idaho last weekend to secure their places in the semifinals, as they entered the contest tied with the Vandals for second place in the league standings.
Patrycja Niewiadomska and
Natalie Rainke lead the charge for NAU, as each has compiled a 10-3 record in singles. Rainke has won six in a row, after beginning the Spring 4-3. She has also won three in a row in doubles play alongside
Elen Jantacova, who is also carrying a four-match streak in singles into the weekend.
UC San Diego brings a 5-15 record into this contest, including a 1-7 mark in Big West matches. The Tritons will look to snap a seven-match skid, during which they have been outscored by an average of three points. Allison Lian holds the best mark in singles play at 9-9, and took her last outing in a tight, three-set affair over CSUN's Tallia Harper.
